Hass io download not working

I feel like I misunderstand something. I thought Hass. Copy all the files out, then remove the SD card from the Pi. That is your current installation.

Things have changed a lot since you last read the docs. Omg I had even forgot how I set up the Raspberry Pi. I see now. I have my noobs SD-card in the Raspberry Pi all the times. So the idea is to take that out and keep somewhere and buy a new SD-card and flush hassio on that. I would rather use that SD-card for hassio. The files from homeassistant is copied to a folder on my mac. So what is the proper way to clean this SD-card to start fresh? Just simply put it in my Mac and go into Finder and the card folder and delete all the files?

If you flash a home assistant image over it, the contents of the old installation are automatically deleted overwritten. Or does anyone have any idea how to go further?

However… The advice from brahmafear is likely the best for you. Some times solution is to delete database and make restart…. But first, how do I get the config? It may seem that Hass. Therefore, having installed Hass. Hassbian, in turn, is a Raspbian distribution with the Home Assistant server already installed in a virtual Python environment.

Unfortunately, the project is closed, and no more builds based on fresh Raspbian distributions with new versions of Home Assistant installed on them are released. Is essentially the easiest method of installing a clean install.

The result is a finished image, deployed to your Micro SD card, with all the minimum required software installed. You need to log out for the changes to take effect! Log back in and check that docker is running:. The Hass. If you have Raspbian Stretch installed, you only need to add jq.

Other distributions may require additional packages. The official instructions say to run the script as root, many people skip this and get a permission denied error when trying to run the script. Giving you to access your Home Assistant configuration file and folder, and also includes a command-line tool to do things like restart, update, and check your instance. The installation of this add-on is pretty straightforward and not different in comparison to installing any other Hass.

Please read the documentation for more information about the use and configuration of this add-on. You could also open an issue on GitHub, in case you ran into a bug, or maybe you have an idea on improving the addon:.

Check out some of our other add-ons in our Community Hass. I am Franck Nijhof, and I have 30 years of programming experience, in many languages. I am using this experience to work on the Home Assistant project by giving back my knowledge and time to the open source community. It is not the only add-on I have created; there are many many more. However, I have a problem… I am an addict. A addict that is.

If you want to show your appreciation, consider supporting me for buying a cup of high octane wakey juice via one of the platforms below! With a clean install I have restored a snapshot a couple of times with no problem.

My snapshots can be 30mb. I made a snapshot before starting and made a copy of the 4 files available over samba share. I have downloaded the new image, flashed using etcher, installed smb add-on, and copied the snapshot back to the new build. The snapshot is about MB. Any idea how long the restore should take?

Should I see a progress bar or anything? Thanks for any help. I just tried to recover my HA on RPi and waited for ten minutes with no obvious changes and now 30 minutes later the Overview is just the default icons.

Is there a reboot required? You need to check the log to see what is going on.
